Anxiety, Trauma and Eating Disorder Therapy for High-Achieving Adults in Hawai‘i

Real Support for the stuff you've been silently carrying

You’ve been told you have it all together—meanwhile, your mind is racing, your body’s exhausted, and “I’m fine” feels like a lie.

From my virtual office in Kailua-Kona, I help high-achieving adults across Hawai‘i finally break free from anxiety, burnout, trauma and the emotional chaos and habits under the surface.

Together, we’ll do the real work that helps you feel calm in your body, confident in your decisions, and connected to a life that actually fits.

You deserve more than just getting through the day.

Anxiety that doesn't look like Anxiety

You’re the one who keeps it all together - for everyone else.
The fixer. The dependable one. The one who shows up, handles it, and powers through… even when you're running on empty.

But under the surface? It’s a nonstop storm of overthinking, tension, and quiet dread.
You’ve gotten so used to carrying it all that you’ve started to wonder if this is just how life is now—always bracing, always tired, never really at ease.

Maybe your anxiety doesn’t look like panic attacks or breakdowns.

It shows up as:

  • That buzzing feeling in your chest that never quite goes away

  • Constantly replaying conversations, worrying you said the wrong thing

  • Trouble falling asleep (or waking up already tense)

  • Feeling like you have to earn rest, love, or even basic compassion

  • Saying “yes” when you’re screaming “no” inside

  • Being so in your head, you forget what it feels like to just be in your body

It doesn’t have to stay this way.
With the right support, life starts to feel lighter. You think more clearly. You breathe deeper. You show up for yourself the way you always have for others—and it finally feels safe to let go instead of hold it all in.

Even the hidden wounds deserve healing.

Trauma that doesn't look like Trauma

Maybe the world wouldn’t call it trauma. Or maybe it absolutely was.
A toxic relationship. Emotional abuse. A life-altering event that flipped your world.
Either way, you’ve been carrying pain that was never fully seen, validated, or processed.

Because trauma isn’t just what happened—it’s what you’ve had to do to survive it.
The tension in your body. The guilt that makes no logical sense. The way you shut down, armor up, or hustle for connection just to feel safe. You’ve kept the mask on. You’ve held it together. You’ve built a life—but that doesn’t mean you’re okay.

Trauma could also be from:

  • Growing up in a home where emotions weren’t safe or welcome

  • Always walking on eggshells around someone else’s moods

  • Never being allowed to have your own personality or being told your "too" much, dramatic or sensitive

  • Being exposed to domestic violence as a kid or adult

  • Being involved in high-control religion

  • Being shamed for your sexuality

Real healing doesn’t mean pretending it didn’t happen.
It means no longer letting it run the show. It means finally feeling at home in your body, trusting your own voice, and no longer mistaking survival for a personality trait.
You don’t have to carry this alone anymore—and you don’t have to keep proving your strength by suffering in silence.

It was never about willpower; it's about a root cause.

Eating Disorders don't always fit a stereotype

Disordered eating doesn’t always look the way people expect.
Restricting. Binging. Purging. Overeating. Emotional eating.
They’re not “bad habits”—they’re survival strategies, deeply tied to trauma, anxiety, and the need to feel safe or in control.

Let’s be real: it’s not about the food.
It’s about the comfort. The numbness. The ritual. The moment of relief that keeps pulling you back in.
And because you’re high-functioning and look “fine,” no one sees the mental load you’re carrying or how loud it is in your head.

Sometimes, disordered eating looks like:

  • Eating until you feel numb, not full

  • Obsessing over food all day, then feeling ashamed when you eat

  • Bouncing between restriction and bingeing

  • Using food as your comfort, punishment, reward, or coping tool

  • Constantly thinking about your body and what it should look like

  • Feeling like food is the only thing you have control over — or no control at all

Healing isn’t about perfect eating or loving your body every second.
It’s about rebuilding trust with yourself. Learning to respond to your emotions, not run from them.
It’s finally being able to eat without guilt, look in the mirror without shame, and live in your body like it’s a home—not a war zone.

What to Expect: Rates, Insurance and Payment Info
To give each client the attention and depth of care they deserve, I keep my caseload intentionally small.
This allows me to show up fully present and go deep — not just check boxes.

You have two options for paying for therapy:

Private Pay Therapy Session Rates
Individual Therapy (Telehealth, Hawaii residents only)
$140 per 60 minute session
I accept the following insurance plans:
Kaiser Permanente of Hawaii, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Hawaii (HMSA), Carelon Behavioral Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Quest Behavioral Health, Cigna, Atena, Optum

It’s okay if investing in yourself feels big — because it is.
But the changes you’ll create won’t just last a session. They’ll last a lifetime. And you are so worth that.

Private Pay

Private pay or out-of-pocket pay clients receive the most flexibility and personalized care.

Choosing private pay means:

  • No diagnosis required to receive care

  • No session limits or insurance restrictions

  • Full freedom to focus on your goals, your pace, and the work that truly matters

  • A truly confidential space, free from third-party (insurance company) involvement

This is ideal for clients ready to go deep, explore root causes, and make lasting change without the limitations of a system dictating what that looks like.

Insurance
I also accept some insurance plans through trusted platforms.
Using insurance may mean:
  • Lower out-of-pocket costs depending on your coverage

  • A diagnosis is required for sessions to be covered

  • Potential limits on session length, frequency, or total number allowed

  • Some restrictions in how we structure our work together

If using insurance is the best choice for you right now, that’s absolutely okay.
I’m here to support your growth, no matter which path you choose.

Insurance Therapy Session Rates
Your copay is determined by your insurance plan and can't be confirmed until your benefits have been verified.
Want to use out-of-network benefits?
No problem! I partner with Thrizer to make using your out-of-network (OON) benefits simple and easy. Thrizer handles the billing directly with your insurance while I’m still paid my full private practice rate ($140/session). Often, your cost ends up being similar to an in-network copay.
